Dancing Tango in Boston
The Tango Society
offers 5 opportunities to dance each month—a weekly Wednesday dance and
a Milonga with live music every 1-2 months (often in conjunction with a
weekend workshop).
-
Every Wednesday
evening, from 7:00 till 12 midnight, we present our "Argentine Tango Dance
Break," held at Springstep, 98 George P. Hassett Drive, Medford Square,
off Exit 32 from I-93. There is an informal class for beginners from 7:00 till 8:00,
intermediate class from 8:00 till 9:00, followed by dancing from 9:00 till 11:45.
Admission
cost: $8 for members, $10 for non-members. Students get a 50% discount with
valid student ID. Casual dress, no partner necessary.
For more information, check the Boston Tango Calendar™, or call TangoLine™
at 617-699-6246.
-
When opportunity permits, the Tango Society of Boston invites an
Artist-in-Residence, usually someone from Argentina or Europe, to teach special
series on Wednesdays.
These events are publicized in advanced with different tuition for those wishing to attend the classes.
Those wishing to come just for dancing during our Artist-in-Residence period may
do so from 9-11:45 pm at our standard admission cost outlined above. We
encourage you to check our Calendar for updates and send any questions you have
to info@bostontango.org.
-
The Tango Society's
"La Milonga" generally feature live music by diverse bands such as the former
New York Tango Trio, Trio Pantango or the Buenos Aires Tango Trio, and
occurs every 1-2 months, often in conjunction with a weekend workshop (see
"Special Events"). Again, check the Boston Tango Calendar™, or call TangoLine™.
In addition to
the Tango Society, there are at least three other organizers who run regular
Tango dances in the Boston area, so that altogether there are currently
8-10 Tango dances each month in Boston! Check the Boston Tango Calendar™
for the current schedule for all these dances, as well as basic information
on location, price and contact information. |
