If
You're in Town for 1 Week or Less
If you're an
occasional visitor from afar (once or twice a year from over 200 miles
away). The Tango Society welcomes you as its guest (no charge!) to its
Wednesday evenings Tango Dance Breaks at Dance Union, 16 Bow St, in Union Square,
Somerville. Call TangoLine™ or check the Boston Tango Calendar™ for details, and please
identify yourself to the host that evening.
If you need
short-term accommodation, check out our
Hotels link (which also includes maps showing
the hotel and Dance Union, which is the major site for Tango Society of Boston
events). We even have a special
Tango Society of Boston rate at the La Quinta Inn (formerly Tage Inn) in Somerville.
If
You're in Town for Several Weeks
The Tango Society
maintains reciprocal membership privileges (member discounts, e-mail list,
limited paper mailings) with other organizations worldwide that are similar
in philosophy to the Tango Society of Boston. Here is the current list:
Show the membership
card from your Tango organization at our events and you can get membership
rates for all Tango Society events! (Discounts with other local organizers
that offer discounts to Tango Society members will be at their discretion.)
We would like
to add all such other organizations worldwide to this list, so please contact
us if you are the organizer of such an association. If you are a member
of such an organization and it is not listed above, please mention this
to your organizers. The main purpose, of course, is not just to save a
few dollars for our respective members, but to foster the philosophy of
establishing ties with our sister organizations around the world! So even
if yours' is a small organization from another corner of the world and
it is unlikely that your members will be visiting Boston, we would still
like to establish such a relationship. The requirements are very simple:
-
It should be a
non-commercial organization
-
It should be a
membership-based organization (membership fees, membership cards)
-
Its primary purpose
should be related to the Argentine Tango
